In full, “Dear General, I will send immediate orders to Stuart not to permit Templeton to pass within his pickets. Will you give a similar one to Gen. Bonham? Yours truly, J.E. Johnston.” Then, in a different hand in pencil, “Give this order to diff Brigades, Camp Pickens-”
