War-date Confederate officer’s Autograph Letter Signed by Daniel Trueheart, 1pp. quarto, Winchester, Virginia, December 17, 1861, addressed to Lt. Colonel Turner Ashby, and reads “I send you by the stage this morning ammunition, etc. called for by requisition yesterday. There were no duplicates. Pleae have them sent. I have telegraphed twice to Strausburg about the 12 pound Howitzer, but cannot find it. It may have been stopped at Manassas Junction. I have written there. The 50 knapsacks & canteens were sent to Charlestown to Rouse. Suppose he has received them at Martinsburg...” Fine condition.
