Civil War-date 2-page issue of the Daily (Richmond, Va.) Examiner, Oct. 18, 1864. Telegram (signed in type) from Gen. Lee in the Valley Campaign reporting Co. Mosby destroyed a U.S. mail train (locomotive and ten cars), 20 prisoners, 15 horses and $168,000 in government funds. Also, reports from fighting against Sherman in Georgia and skirmishing in Florida. Runaway slave reports. Great shape in Confederate title from capital of Confederacy.
