Vols.", [Va.], Feb. 12, 1862, reading, in part: "…of our…being successful at Roanoke Island…I think those at Manassas must begin to think that the Yankees are somebody after all. We are still laying under marching orders. When or where we are intending to go is more than I can tell…when it does come it will be very short notice…. All are very much attached to him and would do more service with him than any other man…I am still at the court martial. We…had a case of a guard shooting another guard and it is not yet completed. The evidence is very strong and…it will go very hard with him…R. A. Hubbel 14th Regt. N. Y. S. Volunteers, Miners Hill, Va." Light soiling, else VG
