A great war-date Union soldier's letter, 1p. 8vo., written by Corp. Robert A. Hubbel, Co. K, 14th New York State Vols., "Gaines Mills, Va., 8 miles from Richmond, June 5, 1862," reading, in part: "…find 20 dollars which I sent by Capt. [William H.] Seymour…we are…hourly expecting to attack Richmond yet do not know when the time will come but come it must sooner or later…I have just been appointed corporal…in the place of Knowles who did at Fortress Monroe…R.
