H , 35th Iowa Infantry, who served from August 1862 through August 1865, includes an 1868 pocket diary with almost daily entries, with some interesting content includes : “...[2/12/1868] heard that Mr. Mills was waylaid & robbed of over $200, last Friday p.m. between here & Shell Rock. Two men cam out of the woods & one took his horse & the other tried to kill him when he gave up his money...[3/30]Impeachment trail of President Johnson begins today...[4/2 ] saw 9 baptised in creek, 5 men & 4 women...[4/15] Heard that Mr. Taylor’s son in law near Jamsville who had just sold Farm was robbed of $2200 last night. Money take from between beds while man & wife were asleep...” Much more. Fine condition...plus; Marriage certificate for Whiting Wetherell and Anna Snyder, 1pp. quarto, 1859.
