Good 1860's stereoview the steamer Bristol by E. & H. T. Anthony, New York with paper label on verso reading: "Partial View of the "Sound Steamer" "Bristol." Built by the Merchants Steamship Company of Rhode Island, at the end of the Civil war, she cost a staggering $1,250,000 at the time of her completion in 1866. She operated between Fall River, Mass., Newport, Rhode Island and New York City and could carry 1200 passengers along with 40 railcars of freight on a single voyage. Near fine
