MUZZY, Helen (1811-1870) Prolific actress. Played the role of Mrs. Montchessington in the play Our American Cousin at Fords Theatre the night President Lincoln was killed. Married to lawyer, actor & poet Charles Edward Muzzy. Autograph Letter SIgned “Helen Muzzy” 1pp. octavo, Washington, addressed to Mr. WRight and reads in part: “...Mr. Tugleur is quite imperitive as to my remaining until Thursday - if this be the case I cannot play Paulina (Winter’s Tale) on that night...” Fine condition...plus; Cabinet card photograph of her.
