HUMPHRYS, William (1794-1865) was an engraver of pictures, book illustrations and postage stamps. Autograph Letter Signed, 2pp. octavo, May 2, 1847, London, in part: “...I left yesterday at Mr. Shakin impressions of all the plates, altho’ some of them are in that state in which it is least agreeable to show yet I wished you to see that all are progressing...I sent a week ago to Mr. Lutze an impression of the plate containing “The Leper” & “Absolom” to be revised by him...” Very good condition.
