Lot of EIGHT complete and authentic issues of Harper’s Weekly from 1873 featuring THOMAS NAST artwork. These are listed as having at least one full-page rendering in each issue. Nast, fresh off his conquest of William “Boss” Tweed, the corrupt leader of the Tammany Ring, still has a sharp pen for politics on the national and local scene. In addition to these full-page engravings depicting President Grant and many “celebrities” and issues of the day (the Pope and the press), there are some smaller cartoons related to Tammany. Issues have been removed from volume so some loose pages should be expected.
