War-date Confederate Autograph Letter Signed by Surgeon E. Miller, 1pp. quarto, “Dept. for Wounded near Burt Bridge W&M R.R.” September 25, 1863, and reads in part: “...I have the honor to report the continued arrival at this point of the wounded from the field, the transportation from here by R.R. I find sadly deficient more especially of the past two days. There are 20 car loads of suffering men by the track....” Fine condition.
