Union soldier’s testimony, 1pp. quarto, recording an incident as told by Charles Davis, Private Co. B, and reads in part: “...I left Adamstown this afternoon to return to camp in company with Sergeant Webster of Co. B and four or five men belonging to Adamstown...we met a hand car coming towards us on the R.R. One of the men in our company said he would stop the car...They still continued to move the car when Webster ordered them to halt! One of them said he would not halt for any Northern son of a bitch...I heard the report of a pistol, looked around & saw the man Lamar on the ground. Did not see who fired the pistol...” Fine condition.
