Rare edition of the “Advertiser and Register” a Mobile, Alabama newspaper, dated December 13, 1863, with good war content, including printed orders by Lieutenant General Polk pertaining to the acceptance of prisoners captured at Vicksburg and Port Hudson; a list of casualties at Fort Sumter; “Review of Gen. Bragg’s Last Campaign”; the transfer of a spy “Brady Anderson” whose real name was A.C. Grimes; a small note that reads “Nearly all the dealers in military goods at Memphis, who were ordered to send their stocks North, are Jews”; as well as ads for slaves, goods, Confederate bonds and more. Folded into quarter, about Very Good condition.
