War-date partly-printed Document Signed by “J. Chase Jr.” Lieut and Assistant Provost Marshal, 1pp. oblong octavo, October 6, 1865, Anderson, South Carolina, being an oath for Miss S.M. Puchal to be loyal to the United States and “support all Laws and Proclamations which have been made during the existing Rebellion with reference to the emancipation of Slaves...” Fine condition.
