An early printed war-date Warrenton Springs (Fauquier County), Virginia resort wood cut illustrated advertising stationery, 1p. 4to., announcing, on April 30, 1861, that, in part: "These Springs, situated fifty miles west from the District of Columbia…will be opened on the 15th of May, as a first-class watering establishment. The subscriber…will make every effort…to make visitors comfortable. They may be reached in six hours from Baltimore, three from Alexandria, and eight from Richmond by railroad, with six or seven miles by stage, over a good turnpike. Rate of board: 50 cents per meal; $2.00 per Day…children over two and under ten years, and Colored Servants, half-price; White Servants three-fourths; Horses, 50 cents per Day…Robert Hudgin, Warrington Springs, Va."
