War-date Union soldier's letter, 4pp. 8vo., written, on George Washington patriotic stationery printed by Mumford, by Pvt. Harrison Gibble (Gipple in the CW database), Co. A, 79th Penn. Vols., "Camp Nevin, Harding Co., Kentucky, Nov. 24, 1861," to his friend, Henry C. Gringrich, in part: "…General [William T.] Sherman left with his bridate on Friday toward Green river. We have seen them march through the rain. The poor fellows, they only went fifteen miles then camped…Gen. McCook reported to Gov. Morton of Indiana. Our regiment [is said] to be the best drilled in the brigate. I have this information from our General (Nealy). We have to keep ourselves clean in every respect…H. Gibble." VG.
