Group of three checks signed by Union generals includes: HAMILTON, Alexander (1815-1907) was a Major General in the New York State Militia during the American Civil War, and was the oldest grandson of Alexander Hamilton, the first Secretary of the Treasury of the United States. Document Signed “Alexander Hamilton” June 1864, Connecticut, drawn on the National Exchange Bank account. Fine condition....plus; CARR, Eugene Asa (1830-1910) was a soldier in the United States Army and a general in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Thrice wounded at Pea Ridge, he received the Medal of Honor for his valor. Document Signed “E.A. Carr” October 1910, Washington D.C., on “The Riggs National Bank” account. Fine condition....plus; SCOTT, Winfield (1786-1866) was an American military commander and political candidate. He served as a general in the United States Army from 1814 to 1861, taking part in the War of 1812, the Mexican–American War, the early stages of the American Civil War, and various conflicts with Native Americans. Scott was the Whig Party's presidential nominee in the 1852 presidential election, but was defeated by Democrat Franklin Pierce. He was known as "Old Fuss and Feathers" for his insistence on proper military etiquette, and as the "Grand Old Man of the Army" for his many years of service. Autograph Document Signed “Winfield Scott” January 1851. Fine condition.
