An unusual war-date bounty claim legal document, 1p. oblong 8vo., by a certain P. W. Hahn, Green Township, Summit Co., Ohio, August 12, 1864, addressed to the local district Military Bounty Committee, being a payment reimbursement affidavit, reading, in part: "I P. W. Hahn do solemnly affirm that I paid the sum of Ten dollars to the Military Bounty Committee to pay Volunteers who enlisted into the Military service of the U. S. to fill the quota due from Green Township…under the call of the President of the U. S…for 500,000 additional troops…this claim is made…to obtain reimbursement of the money…according to the statues enacted, March 28th 1864…". Near fine.
