Appomattox Court House parole, April 10, 1865, signed by Colonel William Todd Robins 24th Virginia Cavalry, and reads "THE BEARER Sergt. J.H.F. Tompkins of Co. F 24th Regt. of Va. Cav., a Paroled Prisoner of the Army of Northern Virginia, has permission to go to his house, and there remain undisturbed." Fine condition. William Todd Robins (1835-1906), Colonel of the 9th Virginia Cavalry Regiment, distinguished himself during JEB Stuart's cavalry ride around the Union Army during the Peninsular Campaign in 1862, later commissioned as Colonel of the 24th Virginia Cavalry.
