Collection of 23 Alonzo Chappel steel engravings taken from History of the War for the Union by E.A. Duyckinck, New York, 1862. These fine wartime illustrations are 8" x 10 ½" and include the book's title page, battle views and portraits of early war personalities. Among the latter are Lincoln, Davis, Scott, Farragut, Burnside and McLellan. In addition to the Chappel grouping is a loose 6" x 9" print by B.B. Russell of Boston, 1866, showing Lincoln's entry in Richmond after its fall the previous year. There is water staining on the Lincoln portrait and the title page. The other prints are free of any defects, grading VF.
