War-date Southern beau's letter, 3pp. 4to., written by a certain "E. T. P.", Macon Depot, [Georgia], Sept. 4, 1864, to "dear Mss. Emma," reading, in very small part: "Dear Miss Emma…[I] was very sorry to have you think…I would not be very anxious to receive your letter…you did indeed make me feel sad when I received your letter…Dear Emma, why do you write me so coldly…I am afraid sometimes you do not like my tender expressions…just returned from Marion [Alabama]…McClellan & Wood have been nominated as candidates by the Chicago convention. Everything is quiet at Mobile. We have defeated the Yankees in Virginia. No news of any importance from Atlanta…yours most devoted. E. T. P." Negligible paper lose, else VG.
