Partly-printed Document Signed, "L.A. J. Snyder, Major 12 Regt. Ohio Inft. Vet. Vols" 1p. quarto, July 19, 1865, headed "THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI" and reads "I, Milton Gardy, do solemnly swear (or affirm) in the presence of Almighty God, that I will hereafter faithfully support, protect and defend the Constitution of the UNITED STATES, and the union of the States there under; and that I will, in like manner, abide by and faithfully support all laws and proclamations which have been made during the existing rebellion with reference to the emancipation of Slaves. So help me God…" Signed by Milton Gardy. Good condition. Mississippi ratified the 13th amendment 2013.
