Porter Jr." 14th New York Cavalry, taken POW in October 1863, he escaped Libby Prison January 29, 1864, 1pp. quarto, entitled "Libby Prison" with dateline Richmond, Va. December 18, 1863, to a friend and asking for articles for his confinement." Fine condition.
