FENTON, Reuben Eaton (1819-1885) was an American merchant and politician from New York, who served as War Time Governor of New York. Documents Signed, "R(euben) E(aton) Fenton", being a pair of "Certificate of Indebtedness" issued by the State of New York, May 18,1865 and June 5, 1865. Each is two pieces including the Certificate and the printed/signed letter authorizing the payment. The first is for $10,200 issued to Pine Plains, Dutchess County; the second, is for $17,400 issued to Stephenson, Rensselaer County.
