May 13th, 1779, Important Historic Content, Imprint of State of Connecticut, “Acts and Laws”, 20-pages Complete, Printed by Timothy Green, New London (CT.), Very Fine. This Revolutionary War Document contains the official published record of the Acts and Laws of the State of Connecticut passed by the General Assembly and Court dated on May 13, 1779, disbound, being string stitched and well printed on light blue laid period paper. Printed by Timothy Green of New London, this 20 page document is complete, measures 7” x 11.25” and is in nice condition with minor tone and some scattered ink smudges on its back cover. The first Act is titled: “An Act for the direction of Listers in their Office and Duty”. (LISTER: one who kept a list of persons being taxed and their property.) These Acts and Laws deal primarily with Colonial Taxes and assessments, Trading with the (British) Enemy, Tories, choosing Delegates to the Continental Congress, regulating the Militia, Taverns and much more. Timothy Green, printer in New London (CT.) also printed paper money known as Colonial Currency for the Colony and State of Connecticut.
