Newspaper, The Herald of Freedom and the Federal Advertiser, June 5, 1789, 4pp., disbound, minor rounding lower left corner slightly affects text. From the front page, Proceedings of Congress, in part, "Mr. Goodhue agreeably to notice given ... intro duced a resolution upon the subject of compensation ... in which the President, Vice President ... the first article respecting the compensation to the President ... Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ..." Then on page 2, "Improvements in Agriculture" reports that President Washington "went to see the curious agriculture improvements and newly invented farming utensils ..." Describe Washington's interest in these improvements.
