c. 1775 Revolutionary War Period, Blacksmith-forged, 9.5" long, Diamond-shaped Iron Pike Head, Fine. circa 1775 Revolutionary War Period, Blacksmith-Forged Iron Pike Head measures about 9.5" long including the mounting socket, by 2.25" at the widest portion of the blade. Similar in blade design to an example listed as 128.PA on page 222 of Neumann's, "Swords & Blades of the American Revolution". Neumann states, "Small arrow-like heads such as this have been found in Revolutionary War sites, as well as in western Europe." This example is noted by the consignor as being located from the area of southeastern Pennsylvania. Overall even in its natural reddish-silver patina.
