HUSE, Caleb (1831-1905) served as a Major in the Confederate Army, and worked primarily in the acquisitioning of arms and ammunition for the CSA. He liaised with numerous munition manufacturers throughout Europe, including England, Austria, and Prussia. Autograph Letter Signed "C.H." 2pp., 5-1/2" x 3", written from France, nd. In part, "After receiving my letter from Mr. Macquard to Col. Fave, I regretted that I had asked for it. For I did not wish to have anything to do with anyone till I had seen the Emperor. So I took no interpreter and resolved to be even more ignorant of French than normal ...."
