A near uncirculated Seventy Dollar note, January 14, 1779, prints with a red overprint, Maple leaf. Although not circulated, there is a slight 1/2" tear lower right and corresponding faint fold. These notes were printed on special paper, sent to the money centers and used to compare against possible counterfeits.
