A great Gettysburg related 20th Maine Civil War document, being a postally used "Soldier's Letter" transmittal cover endorsed by Chaplain Luther P. French of the 20th Maine Volunteers. During the battle of Gettysburg, French served at a hospital ministering aid to the wounded men of his regiment while also comforting the wounded of other regiments. Expected wear, else VG.
