Vouchers issued, to the wife of Pvt. Owen Sullivan, Co. B, 2nd New York Veteran Cavalry, by the town of Saratoga Springs, New York, dated between May 23, 1864 through Nov. 5, 1864. Each is similar to the one below, reading, in part: "To [Merchants] Saulsbury & Brintnell…pay (in trade from your store) to Margaret Sullivan wife of Owen Sullivan of Co. B, 2d Vet, N. Y. Cavalry five dollars and charge the same to the town of Saratoga Springs…pursuant to Chapter 514 of the Laws of 1863. By order of the Board of Relief." Signed and made official by various town auditors including, L. Varney, J. D. Briggs, E. Cowen and/or J. M. Ostrander Each overall VG.
