Autograph Letter Signed “A.J. Goodman” 2pp. quarto, Cleveland, Ohio, May 25, 1870, addressed to General Miller and reads in part: “...I cannot express the grief and sorrow which I feel, at the news which reached me yesterday, at the death of my constant and cherished friend, your father in law, General C.L. Ward....He was almost like a father, and I do not know of a person outside of my own family circle, for who I bore a stronger attachment, than for my departed friend...His many virtues of mind & character, endeared him to a large circle of friends, who will lament his decease as that of a brother. I can never forget him! never!...” Very good condition.
