WILLIAM BRADFORD (1755-1795). Continental Army Officer, died at age 39 while serving as Attorney General under Washington (1794-1795); on August 2, 1791 Bradford represented General William West and Argued the First Recorded Legal Case before the U.S. Supreme Court, "West v. Barnes" losing that decision. July 1782-Dated Revolutionary War Period, Autograph Document Signed, "William Bradford", as Pennsylvania Attorney General, measuring 8" x 8.75", 1 page, Bedford County, (PA), Very Fine. Folds and light tone, well written in deep brown ink on laid period paper. Being an indictment of a man for administering a severe beating to another man. Docket on reverse reads: "July Sessions 1782 - Pennsylvania v Robert Adams - Defendant pleads guilty...".
