Union soldier 2pp letter signed only "Jim" (the content indicates 1st Massachusetts (Cook's Battery) Light Artillery). The letter is datelined "Camp Relay, Baltimore County, Maryland, May 30. In part; "We are to drill every morning ... afternoons we go to a large field and drill with guns . .. I want you to get me a pocket knife ... The picture in Frank Leslies of our battery was published on the first page ...I enclose one of Weston's cards .... " Included is a card "WESTON GUARDS, Complimentary Ticket".
