Unusual newspaper "Weekly Museum" 4pp. folio, with large bold mourning borders, January 18, 1800, with letters by John Adams and Martha Washington pertaining to the death of President George Washington. Martha writes December 31, 1799 from Mount Vernon, in part: "...While I feel with keenest anguish, the late dispensation of Divine Providence, I cannot be insensible to the mournful tributes of respect and veneration, which are paid to the memory of my dear deceased husband; and as his best services and most anxious wishes, were all devoted to the welfare and happiness of his country, to know that they were truly appreciated and gracefully remembered, affords no inconsiderable consolation..." More. Missing a portion of fourth page which has been removed, else about very good condition.
