Are you as rabid a Democrat as you used to be when we used to fight over it going to school. I had the pleasure of conversing with the President-Elect a few days ago. He is a man all over. A man that we Illinoians feel very proud of and I think we have just cause to be proud. I predict from what I know of the man that his will be one of the most successful and popular administrations that we have had since the early days of this Republic. Pennsylvania did well ....” Letters pertaining to meeting Abraham Lincoln are very scarce. VG.
