Circular 4" frame protects the color painted profile of a Blackman in a blue uniform. His military hat is on the table in front of him. No signature, nd, np. Given the respectful art, this is likely Toussaint. Toussaint Louverture was born a slave on the French colony of Saint-Domingue, now known as Haiti. He became a free man and a Jacobin, and began his military career as a leader of the 1791 slave rebellion in Saint-Domingue.
