A large Newburgh, [New York], Centennial celebration invitation, October 18, 1883, oblong 8vo., on heavy pink glazed card stock, finely engraved by Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, showing Washington headquarters' building flanked by American flags and military motif, along with notable dates relative to the integrity of our first president, George Washington, including that he, "refused the Crown, May 22d, 1782," his "proclamation of Peace to the Army April 18th, 1783," and "Army disbanded by order of Congress, Oct. 18th, 1783." Very minor soiling and wear, else VG.
