Jedidiah Huntington (1743-1818) was an American general during the Revolutionary War, leading the 1st Regiment of the Continental Line. After the war, Huntington became of the first members of the Society of the Cincinnati, was appointed High Sheriff of New London, and Judge Probate for the district of Norwich. In 1789, he was appointed Treasurer for the State of Connecticut but relinquished most of his duties when President Washington appointed him custom house collector for the coastal area of Connecticut later that year.
