Print in archival frame, J.C. Buttre: New York, NY, n.d., after 1865. Engraving, 6.75 x 5 in. (sight), framed to 13.75 x 11.75 in., after a drawing by L. Hollis, entitled "Abraham Lincoln entering Richmond, April 3, 1865." Shows President Lincoln's visit to Richmond with his son Tad shortly after the Confederate evacuation of the city. A jubilant crowd of African American men, women, and children, probably former slaves, greets Lincoln enthusiastically.
