WWII Japanese Flag Inscribed with Pacific Campaign Correspondence sent as a Gift, Very Fine. WWII Japanese Flag. Measuring 16" x 12.75" Along with Postal Cover, sent "Air Mail", Jan., 21, 1946, WWII 4th Infantry, from Private Chester Backe to a previous school teacher of his. Inscribed on this Flag are Japanese characters, transcribed in English below, reading: "To a grand school teacher!, 4th Inf. 25th Div., Camp Parrish, Koromo, Japan, From Chet". Private Backe was fighting with his countrymen in Japan during World War II and sent this to his favorite teacher as a gift.
