Title, "The new 'Democratic' doctrine. SLAVERY Not to be Confined to the Negro Race, But to be Made the Universal Condition of the Laboring Classes of Society. The Supporters of this Doctrine vote for Buchanan!", 4pp, issued by Young Men's Fremont and Dayton Central, New York, 1856. The last page shows the Slave and Free states with statistics. For example, "US Senate- The free states have a white population of 13, 238, 670, and have 32 Senators. The slave states with a population of 6,186,477 have 30 senators." Clearly the 3/5 clause applied to the 3,204, 313 southern state's slaves has dramatically increased the Southern States representation.
