Periodical, The Political Magazine (London), November 1780, 56 pgs; This issue has two lengthy reports regarding Benedict Arnold. First, The famous General Arnold who Abandoned the Rebel Service, and joined our Army at New York, Wrote the following Address to the Inhabitants of America. Secondly, “Account of Major General Benedict Arnold, who has abandoned the Rebel Service, and joined our Army at New York,” 1 pg, provides biographical background of Arnold (partial article as it is continued in the December issue, not offered). Also a full page report, , “Account of the taking of Henry Laurens, Esq; Late President of the Rebel Congress, and of the Dutch Treaty found amongst his papers.” And finally, associated with the above, another article prints a letter found in Lauren’s effects, dated Feb 12, 1778 from Camp at Valley Forge, which describes the horrible condition of the army.
