Political Cartoon,18" x 14-1/2" and signed by "Shaw McCutcheon". The Democratic Party was struggling to find the Presidential candidate in 1976. This cartoon shows Hubert Humphrey taking a picture in front of the White house. Humphrey has arm around a cardboard cutout of Teddy Kennedy. Humphrey says, "And sir still, Teddy". The cartoon title, "And retouch his mouth so it seems to be saying 'Yes"' Jerry Brown, Frank Church and Jimmie Carter ran in the primaries. On April 22, 1974, Humphrey said that he would not enter the upcoming Democratic presidential primary for the 1976 presidential election, yet still many Democrats encouraged him to run.
