United Palestine Appeal (New York) Press Photo, 8" x 6", June 20, 1926. The image shows Jewish immigrants at the Haifa wharf. The news clipping on the reverse, "Jews from the Ghettos of Eastern Europe landing in Palestine to help rebuild their homeland. A boatload of immigrants landing in Haifa, now Palestine's chief seaport, from where, under Zionist auspices, they will be found self-supporting work on the farm or in the fast-growing industrial life of the country. Jewish immigrants are now coming into Palestine at the rate of several thousand a month, mostly from Eastern and Central Europe.
