A complete and authentic issue of The United States' Gazette For The Country, (Philadelphia) October 30, , 1813, 4pp., disbound, loose at spine, VG. From the last page there is a runaway slave ad, "Fifty Dollars Reward" for "a very bright MULATTO NEGRO WOMAN named Eliza, about sixteen years of age. Her complexion so much fairer than the Mulattoes generally, that unless she is very particularly examined she may pass for a free white woman. ... I have every reason to believe that she is either in Alexandria or the City of Washington, where she has hired yourself as a free woman ..." posted by William Chapman, Port Tobacco.
