Booklet, “Two Sermons on Slavery and Its Hero-Victim”, preached by Nathaniel Hall, Boston, 1859, 38pp plus cover, string bound. Hall delivers two sermons, one focusing on the iniquity of slavery and the other on John Brown's actions and their significance. In the first sermon, Hall condemns slavery as a sin and a violation of human rights. He argues that slavery is incompatible with Christian principles. In the second sermon, Hall analyzes Brown's raid, acknowledging its violence while also recognizing Brown's motives and his willingness to sacrifice his life for the cause of abolition.
