The issues include November 26, 1859 with a1/2 page engraving "En Route For Harper's Ferry" with a brief report.....plus, issue of December 3, 1859 Front cover displays a 1/2 page image of the Hanging of a man, "Assassination of Ormond Chase by the Mexicans at Tepic" with report on the following page. The issue also contains a serialized portion (final installment) of "A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens. ... plus, From the front page of December 10, 1859 is 2/3 page engraving "The Late Washington Irving at Sunnyside" with report of his death. ... plus, From the front page of December 17, 1859 is a full page engraving "The Funeral Service at Christ Church, Tarrytown New York, at the Burial of Washington Irving". The following page provides the detail. ... plus, The December 24, 1859 issue, from an interior page reports "The Execution of the Harper's Ferry Insurgents" running 1/2 column. And, a cartoon on the back page "The Real Irrepressible Conflict". Here, the cartoonist shows Seward (right) fighting with Governor Henry Wise of Virginia (left), and in the caption relates the scene to the congressional debates over Brown's raid and slavery. However, the sign pointing toward the White House and the presence of Senator Stephen Douglas of Illinois (diving forward under Wise and Seward) and New York Tribune editor Horace Greeley (holding the basket on the right) indicate that the real "irrepressible conflict" is the presidential election of 1860.
