Booklet, "Report of the Trial of Henry Philips, for the Murder of Gaspard Denegri, Heard & Determined in the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, at Boston, on the 9th & 10th of Jan. 1817," 56pp., last page torn and folded but is present. Denegri was struck on the head by a loggerhead during a minor disturbance at a tavern. Today the circumstances would at the most be considered manslaughter, but Poor Philips was found guilty of murder and hanged.
