Below is the caption "Late of the United States Frigate the Chesapeake who was mortally wounded in the Engagement with HIS MAJESTY'S ship Shannon. Capt. B.V. Brooke off Boston Harbor the first of June 1813- Engraved from a portrait found in his possession at the time of his decease. The print is respectfully dedicated to the British Nation whose philanthropy is such as to esteem the Brave and Virtuous even in an enemy."
